Dear Prospective Employer, Thank you for enquiring about the Orientation Course for First-Time Employer in Singapore. Please
follow the instructions listed below closely as you go through the
online course. Should you have any questions, please feel free to
contact the 121 Customer Care Team at 6733-8121 (3 Lines). Please read through all the instructions below
before proceeding to register for the online course. 1a.
Click here to register for the online course.
A new window will pop up. We have had feedback that some employers were
unable to sign up for the course due to the settings of their computers
being incompatible with that of the course website. If that is
the case, please disable your popup blocker on your computer and try
again (this is a common problem among employers). If that doesn't work,
please contact the course centre directly during office hours - their
contact number and email address are listed below. They should be able
to advise you on your computer settings (as we understand it, their
website is using JIT, Visual C++ and Java Applets, whatever those mean
;-) and they may be incompatible with your computer settings). Continuing Education Centre Hotline: 67721288; Email: cec@sp.edu.sg SINGAPORE POLYTECHNIC Continuing Education Centre (CEC) Department of Industry Services 500 Dover Road Block T10, Level 1, Room T10116 Singapore 139651 Fax: 67721957 1b.
If you don't already have Singpass, look out for "SingPass
Login" just to your right hand side of the course webpage. Just underneath "SingPass
Login" is "Request or reset your SingPass". Click on that
link and follow the instructions there. SingPass is required to access
the online course, and it will be sent to you by post in about 4 working
days'
time. Only upon receipt of your SingPass, can you access the online course. Alternatively,
you can also choose to visit any of the CPF
Board offices or Community Centres (with your NRIC or Employment
Pass) to obtain your SingPass on the spot. 2.
Please note that you would have to pay S$30.00 for the online course
using your credit card. Payment can be made online. Please follow the
instructions given at the above website. Approval of the payment may take up to
1 day. 3.
During your registration for the course, please key in your
name the way it is listed in your passport or NRIC.
If the name in your passport or NRIC does not match up with the name in
your Orientation Course Certificate, your application for a domestic
helper will be rejected or delayed. Please take careful note here.
For instance, if your name in your passport is Angela Catherine White, key in "Angela Catherine White" in the
form. Do not leave out Catherine or any initials that are in your
passport or NRIC. Please note that the code number used at the website
would be your FIN number (for foreigners) or NRIC (for locals). 4.
The
online course should take you anywhere from half an hour to 2 hours to
complete. Upon completion of the course, you would have to do an online
test (please follow the instructions at the website). After you have
passed the test, you will be issued an Orientation Course Certificate. 5.
Please print the Orientation Course Certificate as proof that
you have completed and passed the course.. 6.
The result of your orientation course will be forwarded to the Ministry
of Manpower by the administrator of the course. Within 1 to 2 days, the
ministry will update their database and a formal application for a
domestic helper (assuming that you have already found a suitable
candidate) can be made thereafter. 7.
If you are a 121 Personnel Services client, we will be advising you on
the intricacies of your case and what are the necessary documents you
need to prepare. Barring unforeseen circumstances, your application should be approved within 2-3 days of our electronic application with the ministry. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact the 121 Customer Care Team at 6733-8121 (3 Lines). Thank you.
